DIRECT ACCESS
Having an Ache or Pain but Do Not Have a Doctor’s Order?
Our physical therapists can evaluate your condition and help determine the right direction for your care. Call us to schedule an appointment. Our office staff will also check whether your insurance plan covers direct access.
If you are not seeing improvement, your physical therapist can coordinate with your primary care provider. We can also help you find a provider when additional medical care is needed.
What Direct Access Means for You
1. Immediate Evaluation: If you’re experiencing pain, discomfort, or mobility issues, you can directly contact a physical therapist to schedule an evaluation. You don’t need to wait for a referral or see your primary care physician first.
2. Prompt Treatment: Once you’ve been evaluated, our physical therapists can develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. You can begin your treatment without any unnecessary delays, ensuring that you get started on your path to recovery as soon as possible.
3. Rehabilitation and Recovery: Whether you’re dealing with a sports injury, musculoskeletal condition, or recovering from surgery, direct access to physical therapy allows you to receive the necessary rehabilitation services without the need for a referral. Our physical therapists will work with you to improve your strength, mobility, and function.
Direct access gives you greater control over your musculoskeletal health. It can also help you receive physical therapy without unnecessary delays. However, some insurance plans may have specific requirements or limitations. We recommend checking your coverage before beginning treatment. Your physical therapist can guide you through the process. When necessary, we can also coordinate with your primary care physician or other healthcare professionals.
